LAS VEGAS – The Topps Company, Inc., the exclusive producer of Major League Baseball trading cards, has agreed to become a major sponsor of The Industry Summit, the leading trade event for sports and entertainment collectible leaders.
Under the agreement, Topps will host a new and exciting Topps Retailing for Success Seminar hosted by Alan Narz on Monday, March 21, the first day of the 2011 Summit. This special event will also include a question-and-answer session with executives from Topps, as well as exclusive previews of Topps’ upcoming products and a fast-paced retailer-education segment.
“The Summit is the premiere trade event in our industry, and it’s appropriate that Topps takes a strong leadership position at this important gathering,” said John Buscaglia, Topps VP Sales. “We look forward to working with our clients and business partners to create a memorable and valuable experience for everyone who attends the 2011 Summit.”
In addition, Topps will join with Summit attendees to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its baseball card franchise at a special reception later Monday evening. Each independent retail store in attendance will receive a special ”birthday gift” from Topps executives.
“As the exclusive producer of Major League Baseball trading cards, we have some incredibly exciting products and promotions planned throughout 2011,” said Mark Sapir, Topps VP Sports. “This unprecedented commitment from Topps to our industry’s trade conference signals our commitment to create excitement and sales in the hobby throughout the baseball season and beyond.”
